The brightness of Navarathri Golu represents the divine of the Hindu Goddesses in their houses during Navaratri (Nine nights).
The Montessori Wing of SPS- SALEM celebrated their *Virtual Golu Celebration* on 20th October 2023.
Golu is adorned with dolls – predominantly with that of the gods and goddesses depicting mythology. Dolls or Bhommai arrangement during Navaratri brings in enormous fun and joy for youngsters and children.
Many of us have very vivid memories of celebrating Golu during our childhood wherein the festivities remain more or less same. However as far as our Virtual Golu is concerned; there was a slight twist to the scenario. Instead of the conventional style of decorating the steps with the clay idols, the Montessori kids were asked to attire as God & Goddess and were made to stand on these steps.
With the support extended by the parents, the distinctive thought of the Co-ordinator and the teachers of Festival Committee was put into action. It was a treat for everybody to celebrate Navaratri Golu – the festival of dolls, in one of the most unconventional and unique way possible.
