On Friday, 13th December 2024, the Postal Department of India organized the Philatelic Quiz Competition at the Suramangalam Post Office, Salem. This prestigious event aimed to celebrate the rich legacy of philately, the art and study of stamp collection and postal history. Known as "the hobby of kings and the king of hobbies," philately offers fascinating insights into the cultural, historical, and artistic heritage of nations through stamps.

            Stamps are much more than mere postage—they narrate stories of historic events, significant milestones, famous personalities, flora, fauna, and cultural traditions. Participating in a philatelic quiz gives students a great chance to explore on these topics which builds their knowledge, improves their thinking skills, and develop a better understanding of the world around them.

            In this challenging competition, where teams from various schools across the region competed, our school students —Harshitha N.S. (Class IX), Sai Hari Prasath M. (Class IX), and Mithran A. (Class VII)—emerged victorious, securing First Place with their impressive performance! This outstanding victory has also qualified them for the Regional Level Quiz Competition, which will soon be held in Coimbatore.

            Their success in the Philatelic Quiz Competition highlights not only their knowledge and passion for the subject but also their dedication and teamwork, which is supported by the guidance and efforts of their teachers and mentors, have brought immense pride to the school.
