Drawing Kolam to teach first-graders about dots and lines. Students' were briefed with the tradition of Kolam . The children were taught how to draw Kolam using dots, lines, curves, and loops.

Abstract

  • The students were taken to ground and were delighted.
  • Children were pumped full of facts about the traditional purpose of Kolam  .
  • Children were informed about the aim of drawing Kolam and the benefits that  come with it.

  • The lesson inspired the concept of being creative and imaginative in order to create new things.
  • Learnt new vocabularies such as Kolam, Rangoli, dot, line, curve, loop, break of dawn and so on.
